Children’s allergy doctor is set to leave hospital

(AP) A Michigan pediatric allergist who treated more than 100,000 children for anaphylaxis last year will leave the hospital after four months.

Dr. George Hartsock, a pediatric allergists at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, said Thursday he will return to the United States after four weeks.

He said his diagnosis of anaphymal meningitis last December led to him being assigned to a hospital in Europe for an intensive outpatient care program.

His initial goal was to return to Michigan, but that was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Hartsock said he is looking forward to getting back to Michigan and to his family.
